In 2017 Viva Energy acquired Shell’s Aviation business in Australia.The acquisition combines the global reach and technical excellence of Shell, with Viva Energy’s truly local focus on Australian businesses and people supported by an extensive National supply chain.
Viva Energy markets Aviation products under the Shell brand, and is the exclusive licensee in Australia.
About Aviation:
Viva Energy manages the entire Aviation supply chain from production of high quality aviation fuels at our Geelong Refinery, to shipping and terminal operations, through to customer refueling at over 50 airports around Australia.
Viva Energy supplies a large proportion of the Jet Fuel to Melbourne (Tullamarine) airport, with the vast majority being manufactured at our Geelong refinery. We are proud of the fact that every second flight out of Victoria is being fueled by Jet Fuel made locally. Jet fuel represents about 10% Production from Geelong Refinery, so the jet fuel supply secured through this business is very important to the future of our refining business and for jobs at Geelong.
Viva Energy is the only manufacturer of Aviation gasoline (Avgas) in Australia. Avgas is distributed nationally and supports critical services and businesses throughout regional and remote Australia.
As demand for aviation fuel grows with the increase in both domestic and international air travel, Viva Energy will continue to invest in the supply chain to support this and the people to meet this demand.
